Last week we participated in the annual ICT Showroom in our campus along with 68 other student teams. The event went pretty well and we had good conversations about our project with teachers, representatives from different companies and other students. We had multiple different people from our group presenting our project to different people. On our stand we had a computer running an early demo of a the simulation, an oscilloscope for demonstrating the measurement process and candy to attract people to check out our project.
Our stand demonstrated both the physical hardware in question and what the finished simulation would look like, so people could get an understanding about our project even if they didn't know much about the subject. In the Capstone showroom we could also have a looping video of our project that would have all the important information in a simplified format.
Other projects had a lot of interesting solutions for many different applications. The subjects included for example waste material reuse, brain research and fire rescue planning. This really shows that ICT expertise could be used in a wide range of industries.
The ICT showroom as all in all a great experience and we a looking forward to improving our project and presentation for the upcoming Capstone showroom.
